Suprise Attack on Gaza Strip

In the midst of watching YouTube videos about the conspiracies surrounding the World Trade Center September 11th attacks, I got wind of the Israeli air attack on the Gaza strip early this morning, leaving at least 155 Palestinians killed and scores more wounded.

The attack came in response to heavy rocket fire from Gaza – fire that was incited by the recent end of the shaky truce between Israel and the Hamas. But this retaliation was much unlike the rocket and mortar fire from the Hamas that did not kill or seriously injure any Israelites. In an expected move from the people of Israel, the attack came in broad daylight when adults and children were travelling to work and school and the bustling Gaza strip reopened for business.

Hospitals are swarmed with injured victims, unable to help a family who carried in their five month old baby wounded during the attack. People of the area have fled the area and are being housed in bomb shelters from recommendations by the government that they stay secluded and avoid congregating outdoors.

And in the midst of it all, the Israeli military warns that “this operation will be continued, expanded and intensified as much as will be required.”

Let our prayers go out to the people of Gaza, for all those searching for missing family members, for those who have lost family, and those who are wounded. Let us also pray that a better truce can be drawn between the Israelites and the Hamas. Attacks of this nature only fuel hatred and lead to larger and more devastating attacks and it can be expected that should this continue, the borders of Israel and Gaza will not be able to contain it.
